Engage Miami brings civic engagement directly to young people on college campuses and in their communities and empower young people to go beyond the ballot box as advocates, organizers, and community leaders. We engage in year-round community organizing, issue advocacy, and turning out our generation at the polls. Every year, we register voters, create voter guides that show where the candidates stand on the issues that matter most to young people, and make sure all of us have the information we need to be confident and ready to vote. Our core strategies include:

  1. Civic Education: We educate young people about their local county and municipal government, upcoming election dates, and community organizing through social media, member meetings, and more.
  2. Leadership Development: We are actively developing the leadership skills of Gen Z and millennials through our Fellowships and Membership, growing the next generation of civic leaders and advocates.
  3. Voter Engagement: We register voters, create voter guides that show where the candidates stand on the issues, and ensure all of us have the information we need to be confident and ready to vote.
  4. Issue Organizing: We organize year-round at city hall, the county commission, and in the state legislature to make our platform, the Young People’s Priorities, a reality in our cities and our state.

In 2024, we registered over 25,000 voters, knocked on 100,000+ doors to get out the vote, hosted hundreds of events on and off campus, and surveyed over 500 young people to inform our updated Young People's Priorities platform, including housing affordability, climate action, a fair economy, public schools, community safety, and public libraries, parks, and transit. We created voter guides for local and statewide elections, pledged almost 68,000 young people to vote, and developed over 20 amazing young leaders through our fellowship program. Your support empowers us to continue engaging young people year-round to get involved locally, vote in every election, and fuel a future that's better for all of us.
