The Edu Foundation is a non-profit organization that strives to foster a culture of swim safety at a young age by providing free swimming lessons to underprivileged children. The Edu Foundation’s Mission is to provide free swimming instruction to underprivileged children in order to reduce the incidence of injury or death due to accidental drowning.
Mission
The Edu Foundation honors “Edu”, a beautiful boy who was lost to accidental drowning at just 15 months of age. Edu’s family created and endowed this foundation to ensure other families do not suffer a similar loss. The Edu Foundation continues Edu’s Legacy by teaching kids how to enjoy the water responsibly and safely. We have provided free swimming lessons to over 100 underprivileged children.
We have benefited more than 100 underprivileged children who live in Cartagena’s rural neighborhoods. By providing children with comprehensive water safety education and swimming skills, we aim to significantly decrease the risk of drowning incidents in these coastal communities.
