$250,000 Goal

The goal is for DPT to become a full-service fitness and education facility inspired by our client’s special needs, that will allow members of the disability communities to experience an inclusive loving community with their families and like-minded individuals at affordable prices.

DPT’s non-profit, Disability Programs & Training Facilities (“DPTF”),  currently provides services of independence and self-sufficiency in the disabled communities. The DPTF programs, services, & training for this division will include activities that fully integrate people with disabilities into the Broward County community. It is important to note that DPTF will be partially funded from the profits of DPT but largely funded by government grants and assistance.

The goal of DPT is to become a full-service fitness and education facility inspired by our client’s special needs, that will allow members of the disability communities to experience an inclusive loving community with their families and like-minded individuals at affordable prices. Building(s) DPT will be home to three full-service environmental and disability friendly fitness/childcare facilities (“DPT Fitness & DPT Early Education Center collectively known as DPT Facilities”) along with 4 sustainable and disability accessible affordable housing complexes (“DPT Housing”). DPT Fitness will be the first full-service, first-class health, wellness, fitness, education, and childcare center for all income levels of families and individuals with or without disabilities. DPT Facilities and Housing will use alternative energy sources such as solar power and sustainable environmentally friendly building materials. DPT Fitness’ state of the art fitness facility will contain 35,000 sq. ft. with 3 floors to provide the ultimate fitness and childhood education experience inclusive of persons with disabilities, their families, and the community at large. Each structure built by DPT will be environmentally responsible and resource effective as DPT’s clients have special needs, which include but are not limited to allergies, respiratory issues, and autism. DPT will avoid using material that releases toxic fumes and carcinogens into the atmosphere. In addition, DPT’s buildings will be green buildings as we believe in taking care of our environment to reduce landfill waste. Furthermore, we will enable alternative transportation use and encourage retention and creation of vegetated land areas and roofs. Considering the people we serve, we feel it is extremely important to conserve natural resources and improve the air and water quality we are exposed to daily. DPT Housing will be a state of art housing complex consisting of 4 buildings designed for accessibility and affordability to persons with disabilities. Each housing complex will be able to house up to 30 individuals and/or families. We will utilize 3-D printing technology to construct the complex, which allows for stronger walls that will conserve energy more efficiently than traditional building materials. This is critically important given Florida’s environment and ecological terrain.
