Miami Disaster Resilience Fund

When a disaster hits, we want every neighborhood in Miami to be able to spring into action and access resources immediately. 

The Disaster Resilience Fund is a unified and proactive approach that will support disaster preparedness and support equitable long-term recovery efforts. 

Grants are distributed during three phases: Preparedness Grants are dispersed before hurricane season to organizations that are readying communities for the season, Recovery Grants are distributed at the onset of a hurricane threat and Resilience Grants are administered after hurricane season to organizations that are working to build sustainable communities.

The goal of the Fund is to minimize the time it takes for nonprofits to receive resources after a disaster from 14 days to two days, reduce costs by 600%, and ready the philanthropic and nonprofit community at the start of each hurricane season and before a disaster strikes with a preemptive, permanent source of support.
