Crystal Academy: Celebrating 15 Years of Service to Children of All Abilities

Founded by parents with a deep understanding of autism and related developmental differences, Crystal Academy (CA) is a specialized educational and therapeutic center dedicated to transforming the lives of children and adolescents. Our mission is to provide academic education and therapeutic interventions through a holistic, individualized approach that nurtures every child’s potential.

At Crystal Academy, we do more than address immediate needs; we equip our students with skills to build fulfilling futures. Our older students engage in vocational skill-building to prepare for job opportunities, while all students benefit from a comprehensive curriculum that includes:

• Community-based outings and life skills training
• Behavior intervention and assistive technology
• Speech, music, art, and sensory integration therapies
• Academic education in language arts, science, and math
• Physical education and social skills development

We are proud to collaborate with organizations like UM-NSU CARD, University of St. Augustine, FIU, and local research centers, advancing best practices in behavior interventions, assessments, and treatments. Crystal Academy also offers individual therapies during and after school, including ABA, speech and language, occupational therapy, and music.

Our students are active changemakers, contributing their creativity and advocacy to the design of the first-ever autism flag raised in Coral Gables, influencing the Coral Gables Police Department’s Autism Patrol Car, and participating in annual events like the Autism Police and Fire Caravan, which raises awareness and unites the community.

This year, in honor of our 15th anniversary, we are continuing to focus on:

• Scholarships for families to access life-changing education and therapies.
• Creative arts programs, including music and theater, foster communication, confidence, and emotional growth.
• Pre-vocational training, empowering students with practical skills and building pathways to independence.
