Community Arts Program (CAP)

The COMMUNITY ARTS PROGRAM (CAP) builds exceptional cultural and educational experiences for all children, youth, the South Florida community, its visitors, and beyond.

CAP SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
Staged at the intimate, historic Coral Gables Congregational Church (across from the Biltmore Hotel), the CAP Summer Concert Series brings to South Florida and visitors world-class artists who, in addition to their performances, teach master classes as part of Friday morning CAP SUMMER MASTER CLASSES.

CAP CONSERVATORY FOR THE ARTS
Provides after-school affordable, in-depth instrument, music theory, ensemble and performance curricula for over 58 Miami-Dade County schools' children and youth, no matter what their circumstance or ability. Over 25 CAP Teaching Artists paired with therapists, together, provide guidance and best individualized music education plans for children and youth with disabilities.

CAP MIAMI JAZZ INSTITUTE
This after-school leg of the CAP Conservatory for the Arts introduces more Miami-Dade County children and youth to the "Great American Art Form" as well as studies in all music genres beyond classical music, with an emphasis in composition and the performance and recording of student-based compositions.

CAP PERFORMING ENSEMBLES
These include after school CAP Creative Strings ensembles and—as part of the CAP Miami Jazz Institute—CAP Jazz Ensemble PLUS. CAP touts one of 15 youth jazz band finalists from throughout the United States and Canada chosen via audition to perform in Jazz at Lincoln Center's Essentially Ellington Festival. A minimum of five performances throughout Miami-Dade County are completed each year by CAP Performing Ensembles.

CAP RECORDS®
This grassroots label gives adventurous artists of distinction and, most importantly, it gives Community Arts Program (CAP) students a platform for releasing recordings. CAP Records® is also an avenue for the valuable growth that comes to everyone from listening
