The Coconut Grove Negro Women's Club offers a mentorship program for young ladies with roots in Coconut Grove, grades 9-12. Throughout each mentoring program year the young ladies participate in a series of workshops ranging from college preparation, financial literacy, health & wellness, social decorum, and so much more. Every year the young ladies attend the National College Fair followed by a lunch and learn session. We strive to expose the young ladies to venues right in our Coconut Grove neighborhood, that some have never visited before, such has the Barnacle Historic State Park and/ or partnering with our friends at the Woman's Club of Coconut Grove. At the end of each program year our mentees are presented to our Coconut Grove Community, and awarded with a college scholarship.
The Coconut Grove Negro Women's Club also empowers the women of our community by keeping members up to date on community news, participating in health initiatives, and collaboratively working to tackle the affordable housing crisis in our community.
The Coconut Grove Negro Women's Club, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the West Coconut Grove community, and promoting the education of its women and girls through mentorship, leadership and scholarship services.
