The Coconut Grove Spotlight is an independent nonprofit news organization serving Coconut Grove and Miami through public service journalism. Our team of volunteer editors works with a rotating roster of freelance reporters to produce original stories and local news content twice a week.

By providing high-quality local news coverage, the Spotlight seeks to inform and engage its readers, promote greater participation in civic affairs, strengthen local democracy, increase goverment accountability, and sustain grassroots journalism in Miami.

Donations made to the Coconut Grove Spotlight on Give Miami Day will support our news operation. Although our editors and business managers volunteer their time to keep the operation afloat, we pay our freelance reporters for their work.
