Founded in 1988, Bridge to Hope started as a modest effort to provide personal hygiene products to food stamp recipients. But as we saw the devastating impact of poverty on health, nutrition, and well-being, we knew our mission had to expand. Now re-envisioned as Bridge to Hope, we are a vital, comprehensive resource for low-income and crisis-affected residents across Miami-Dade and beyond.
Our reach and impact have grown exponentially: in 2023 alone, we served over 122,000 people with nutritious meals, essential supplies, and transformative support services. Monthly, we now serve 8,000 to 10,000 individuals—more than double our reach pre-pandemic—as the demand for life-sustaining assistance only intensifies. Through our programs, families access fresh, healthy food; receive health screenings and hygiene essentials; gain vital household items; and benefit from school supplies, financial literacy, and digital skills training.
Our disaster relief and recovery programs, active since Hurricane Andrew, have been a beacon of hope for Miami-Dade and beyond, responding swiftly to crises from natural disasters to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bridge to Hope is built on compassion, equity, and inclusion. We believe in empowering our neighbors to thrive, and we’re committed to building a stronger, more resilient community—together.
Bridge to Hope offers comprehensive wrap-around services designed to support food security while improving health, nutritional and economic outcomes, as well as bridge the gap to self-sufficiency for economically disadvantaged and in-crisis households; to raise the quality of life, standard of living and restore dignity and hope to those in need.
