$100,000 Goal

The ReefLine calls attention to the need for conservation of our oceans and shorelines and the impact that climate change is having on these communities through a stunning new marine art concept off the coast of Miami Beach.

Working with scientific data and studies from renowned scientists, international artists are designing an interactive art installation that will serve as Purpose-Built reefs and can be used to educate residents, visitors, and environmentalists about the importance of healthy coral reefs.

Mission

The ReefLine uses the broad appeal of art to educate and connect the public to the ocean and the importance of healthy marine habitats, coastlines, and coral reefs. It’s an innovative way to gain a greater understanding of the science around coral growth and advance knowledge on this important issue.

Developed by BlueLab Preservation Society in partnership with the City of Miami Beach, the ReefLine is an example of how creative ventures can be an important part of the economy – in this case, the blue economy, which includes ocean-based conservation, business, and ecotourism.

Once completed, the underwater public sculpture park, snorkel trail, and Purpose-Built reefs will be 7 miles long. It will be installed in several phases, with the first slated to open this year.
