Behind the Leaf Inc

We envision a world where women find joy through entrepreneurship. In the world, women have access to funding, understand how to navigate investor relationships, and create jobs through their small businesses.

Behind The Leaf is entirely self-funded by our Tribe (we love you, Tribe ^.^), a collection of generous souls who understand that when women flourish, their communities flourish. With donations from people like YOU, Behind The Leaf offers investor readiness training to 10x capacity building for women entrepreneurs. 

We unapologetically help women get to the money faster. 

Behind the Leaf is the host of the Flourish Media Conference, an "anti-bro" business conference for women entrepreneurs. We create safe spaces for women entrepreneurs to learn about business scaling through peer learning and bespoke educational containers. Our closed community of women business owners pitch to funder-partners and receive feedback and support as they share that pitch in grant proposals, supplier diversity opportunities, and yes..even Shark Tank. 

The most well-known brand outside of our closed community that pitched during the Flourish Media Conference is Kreyol Essence a Haitian Castor Oil Beauty brand by Yve-car Momperousse and her husband Stéphane B Jean-Baptiste...yes we are women-focused and men-friendly. 

We believe growth happens in collaboration through peer learning led by our Board of Directors, who act as mentors, resources, and inspiration to our community. These elevated members openly share what they have learned building their careers to collapse time for the next women-business owner.

In 2024,  with help from YOUR giving, Behind The Leaf can deepen its mission with laser-focused support for 50 women business owners. This cohort will gain access to a series of masterclasses powered by Capital One Cafe on sales, accounting, supplier diversity opportunities, and government contracting.
