Best of the Bess, Inc (BOTB) serves over 500 individuals & families from Liberty Square Public Housing & Venetian Garden Public Housing Developments, youth in the Liberty City, Hialeah, North Miami, Opa-Locka, Miami Gardens and other communities in Miami-Dade County. Services include homebuyer's club meetings, emergency food assistance, community resources, clothing, bus passes, toy giveaways and job training/referrals. BOTB Family Resource programs helps families build strong financial skills, expands their vocational abilities, and provides them with positive community and cultural activities. Adults attend monthly classes to learn how to keep and balance a checkbook, how to obtain and maintain credit, how to plan for purchasing a home and how to gain easier access to the road of homeownership. Our organization also provides basic needs items to low-income and poor residents in the County. Every year we facilitate a back to school event called "Supplying Our Students with Success" in which we provide book bags filled with school supplies by age group, personal hygiene products, socks, shoes, vouchers for haircuts (while supplies last) and opportunity to receive uniforms items if available along with food and festivities. BOTB has also provided youth in various communities with transportation assistance, leadership education, community service hours, bicycles and toys during the holidays. BOTB is also committed to providing services to senior residents in the surrounding communities through hot meal lunches, various health and wellness programs and workshops.
To move our low to very low income communities from poverty to prosperity by helping with the facilitation of youth and economic development, creation of safe neighborhoods, affordable rentals/housing and financial literacy education.
