$8,000 Goal

Aguacate Sanctuary and Rescue was founded by Daney Cabrera in 2020 to care for the many unwanted, abandoned and abused pot-bellied pigs in need of a safe and loving home. It has since grown into a haven for 80 rescued animals: pigs, cows, goats, chickens, peacocks, turkeys, rabbits, and ducks, and geese.

Aguacate Sanctuary is the permanent home for these animals. They are no longer exploited nor bred. Animals at Aguacate can finally and naturally just be.

Aguacate believes and endeavors to show that these precious farm animals are just like us. Every being is an individual who deserves to be loved.  We provide our animals, which we refer to as ambassadors, with a healthy diet and a comfortable home filled with love and good care.

Our animal ambassadors are the lucky ones. They have come to Aguacate from a variety of situations, primarily as the result of abuse, abandonment, and neglect. Thank you for choosing Aguacate during Give Miami Day, and every day!

Mission

Aguacate’s mission is to encourage compassion and inspire change.

Aguacate strives to make this world a kinder place by sharing our rescued animal ambassadors' lives with thousands of visitors every year. We help our visitors understand that their everyday choices have a profound impact on their health, the environment and the lives of precious animals, like the ones they meet at Aguacate.
