Founded in 1984 by potter Ellie Schneiderman, Oolite Arts is one of Miami's largest support organizations for artists, providing them with access to free studios, professional development workshops and studio visits with top curators. Oolite also is a resource for Miamians, offering programming like lectures, exhibitions and art classes that expand the knowledge of contemporary art.

Currently located at 924 Lincoln Road in the heart of Miami Beach, Oolite is growing to meet the needs of our visual arts community. Our programs include our studio residencies, which offer a place to work for visual artists; our new Live.in.Art program, which will provide subsidized housing/workspace for artists in the heart of Miami Beach; and our Home and Away program, which allows Miami artists to explore residencies in other cities and bring those learnings back to the Miami arts community. We are building a new home in the city of Miami that will include more artist studios, a theater, state-of-the-art production facilities, bigger classrooms for our 200+ art classes and more!
