NWD Projects

The mission of NWD Projects is to promote dance as a voice for environmental awareness through collaborations with the artistic, educational, technological and environmental communities. NWD Projects was formed to support the work of National Water Dance (NWD) as well as sponsor, promote and participate in the creation and performance of other dance projects. Partnering with community organizations such as the Deering Estate, Miami Dade College's Earth Ethics Institute, Augusto Soledade's BrazzDance and others NWD Projects brings dance into the environment through producing National Water Dance, a site-specific, simultaneous performance across the US. These performances are live streamed and made available for viewing on National Water Dance's website. Director Dale Andree has choreographed works for Big Blue and You at Historic Virginia Key Beach and at Love the Everglades symposium. Working in the schools NWD Projects brings science to life through dance and poetry workshops and artist's residencies such as Daniel Dancer's Art For the Sky which creates a gigantic living painting colored and shaped by the bodies of participants. Video is a major component of NWD Projects work. "Home", a new dance on camera video created in the mudflats of Maine, has just been completed and submitted to Dance Film Festivals. Ms Andree has been selected as an Artist in Residence in the Everglades for October 2018 and will be creating a new group work with film based on her experience.
