Founded in 1987, the Kiwanis of Little Havana Foundation was established by members of the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana with a mission to assist the underserved and at-risk minority youth of Miami-Dade County with their educational, cultural and recreational needs. Forming future leaders through education is the focal point of the Foundation. The Foundation has five distinct programs aimed at improving the quality of life of underserved Miami-Dade County children and youth: The Academic Scholarship Program, Digital Access Campaign, Back to School Program, The Healthy Kids Sports Program and future Playgrounds Program.

Beginning the first week of December, the Kiwanis Little Havana Foundation distributes over 5,000 new toys to children in day care centers, elementary schools and migrant labor camps. Toys that range in age group from infants to teenagers and include dolls, educational toys, remote control vehicles, pre-school activity toys, bicycles and gift cards for the older children. The distribution includes children in shelters & foster homes, neighborhood children from various Care Centers and schools. Annual CHRISTMAS FAIR invites thousands of children to a day full of activities, games, food, and gifts.
