KIPP Miami

Founded in 2018, KIPP Miami is operating its first, free nonprofit charter school, KIPP Sunrise Academy, in Miami’s Liberty City neighborhood. We set clearly defined and measurable high expectations for academic excellence and conduct in order to create and reinforce a culture of achievement and support. We know that every student is different and we personalize learning based on a student’s needs, skills, and interests. KIPP Miami is part of the KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program) national nonprofit network of college preparatory public charter schools serving elementary, middle and high school students. KIPP’s network extends across 20 states and the District of Columbia, educating more than 90,000 students in grades pre-K through 12. KIPPsters complete college at approximately four times the national average of their peers from similar communities. KIPP has a 20-year track record of preparing students for success in college and life. KIPP Miami is proud to partner with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the Urban League’s We Rise Liberty City Initiative, Jewish Community Services, and I Have a Dream to bring additional education options to the Liberty City community.
