Hope for Miami

Our vision: a Miami in which each of us uses our resources, skills, and interests as "threads"" to re-weave our neighborhoods into a tapestry of well-being for everyone. Mission: Hope for Miami nurtures children and youth through effective programs that help them build positive relationships with the community.
WhizKidz After School and Summer Camp program: Serves 1,400 children ages 5 to 15, five days a week during the school year and seven weeks of summer. Includes literacy, fitness, social skills, homework help and field trips. Success Club: Three day a week After School and Summer Camp program that serves teens with disabilities who attend Middle and High School and Peer Mentors who are earning community service hours. Success Club programs are at four locations across Miami-Dade. Hope for Miami serves children and youth of all abilities within its programs and services. Compass & Compass Youth Prevention of substance abuses and other high-risk behaviors. Compass: Serves 500 youth ages 11-15 in South Miami Dade. Compass serves - Level 1 services in Middle Schools. - Level 2 (case management) within the community. Uses LifeSkills training curriculum. Compass Youthserves students in 4th to 6th grades and parents. Project U Turn: Prevention of teen pregnancy and STIs among 500 middle school youth, ages 11 - 15 in South Dade County, once a week for one hour for 8 weeks. Includes Parent Workshops in the community. Coalicion Esperanza: Community-based coalition in Miami'sFlagami neighborhood, dedicated to protecting youth by preventing high risk behaviors through community collaboration. Children of Inmates: Re-connects children ages 0- 18 with an incarcerated parents/grand parents through quarterly family bonding visits to the prison and care coordination services.
