The mission of the DuMond Conservancy is to engage scientists, students, and the public in the understanding and stewardship of nonhuman primates and their tropical forest habitats. We provide opportunities for scientists and for students of varying ages and abilities to participate in creative science and educational programs and to experience unique encounters with nonhuman primates.

Youth Engagement Program: Our middle and high school students work together as a team along with college mentors to create a table top display to engage the visitors at Monkey Jungle and community events. Each year students develop several different conservation topics. Last year, the students learned about the declining Orangutan populations and how the public can make a difference by saying NO to Palm Oil and for the consumer to make better choices when shopping for products. Public speaking is another skill learned while presenting their message.
