Miami Herald Impact Journalism Fund

A nonprofit organization

For more than a century, the Miami Herald and el Nuevo Herald have served South Florida through fact-based public-interest journalism.

Our work has earned 24 Pulitzer Prizes. More importantly, it has changed policy and improved lives.

We explain complex issues and what they mean to local residents.

We expose hidden agendas that affect the public and hold institutions accountable for their actions.

We help residents navigate the complexities of local life and find the resources they need. We celebrate our diverse communities and connect with through newsletters, video and the social media platforms where audiences are already getting their content.

We give voice to the powerless.

Our work is a partnership with our local community. In response to local concerns, we are seeking to expand our climate coverage and create a desk that will examine the causes of our gaping affordability gap. Please help us increase our impact with your tax-deductible contribution.

Mission

The Miami Herald Impact Journalism Fund partners with our South Florida audience by inviting contributions to expand journalism focused on critical local issues. Since its inception in 2018, The Fund has added coverage of arts and faith at the Miami Herald and el Nuevo Herald. It has expanded reporting on climate change, economic equity, Cuba and the Haitian migration crisis. Money cannot not be used to replace existing resources or to pay for business overhead. The Miami Herald maintains editorial control of all content.
