Island SPACE Caribbean Museum is a unique and important cultural institution. We are the only museum in the United States that is dedicated to the Caribbean, and we serve a diverse community of visitors from all over the world.

The museum shares the history of the entire Caribbean region, features new Caribbean artists every quarter, and hosts a variety of free cultural events each month. Furthermore, we work hard to ensure that children and adults who visit establish a deep connection to the Caribbean.

Our programs and exhibitions reach thousands of people each year, and we are proud to play a role in educating and inspiring the public about Caribbean culture.

Island SPACE serves as the custodian of Caribbean heritage, where every exhibit and program is a celebration of our collective story and a beacon of inspiration for future generations. When you choose to donate, you ignite the spark that:

  • Illuminates Caribbean history, art, and traditions, ensuring they shine brightly for all to see.
  • Fuels a diverse range of cultural festivities that bring knowledge and joy to our community.
  • Empowers us to launch innovative programs that educate, engage, and connect.
  • Elevates groundbreaking series that champions LGBTQ+ visibility and social justice.
  • Nurtures family-oriented and youth-focused initiatives that cultivate cultural pride and understanding.

We rely on the generosity of our donors to keep our doors open and continue our work. Your charitable donation will help us to continue offering educational programs, exhibitions, and events that showcase the best of Caribbean art, history, and culture.

Mission

Island SPACE is a place where Caribbean cultures unite.

What started as a small pop-up collection in 2018 has grown to become the first brick and mortar Caribbean heritage museum in the world. Island SPACE Caribbean Museum tells the rich, vibrant story of Caribbean people both living in the region and in the United States. Our mission is to elevate the profile of Caribbean art, history, and culture in every form throughout South Florida and the broader diaspora. We have already touched thousands of South Florida residents and visitors, educating our community, building cross-cultural understanding, and bringing joy to all who enter.

Did You Know? One in four South Floridians was born in the Caribbean, the original melting pot of the world.

Island SPACE exists to fulfill the need for a unified space to explore and celebrate the ancestry, heritage, and common traditions shared by Caribbean nations.
