Fellowship House

In 1973, Fellowship House was founded through a Community Support Program grant awarded to the Mental Health Association of Dade County, with the goal of supporting deinstitutionalization. Initially modeled after the clubhouse approach, Fellowship House soon became independently incorporated and was designated a demonstration project for the State of Florida by the National Institute of Mental Health. Since then, it has grown significantly to offer a range of services—including employment, case management, outpatient care, and residential programs—that now support over 1,000 members each year.

Having recently celebrated 50 years of operation, Fellowship House continues its mission in psychosocial rehabilitation, dedicated to providing services to individuals who experience severe and persistent psychiatric disabilities, including those with co-occurring substance abuse disorders. Going beyond required compliance standards, it has been consistently accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for its strengths and exemplary standards. Fellowship House holds CARF accreditation in Behavioral Health for its Psychosocial Rehabilitation programs, specifically in Case Management, Community-Based Rehabilitation, Community Housing, Outpatient Treatment, and Community Employment Services, as well as Community Integration. Additionally, our outpatient treatment and community integration programs are accredited for the integrated treatment of individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders.

For five decades, Fellowship House has been a vital support system for adults facing severe and persistent psychiatric disabilities, including co-occurring substance abuse issues.
