Who We Are

The de Moya Foundation was founded in 2015 as a labor of love and passion to make a difference in the lives of children and young adults with special needs. We as a family are blessed to have an independent, highly social and resourceful son with unique abilities. He holds a full-time job in the family business, has an exceptional work ethic and is the engine that keeps our train moving. We realized this opportunity is available to few!

While we have made some great strides, The de Moya Foundation still has a lot to accomplish. We need your support to continue finding and maintaining employment for individuals with unique abilities. We currently have over 120 young adults employed and 30 individuals eagerly waiting for an opportunity. An opportunity to not only make an income but to feel part of a team, to realize their capability and start a brand new journey.

Donations will open on Early Giving (Nov.17-Nov. 20) and Give Miami Day (Nov. 21).

Were you aware that 13% of individuals in Florida have an Intellectual and Developmental Disability?

That means someone in your close circle has friends or family with these unique abilities — they are the silent majority. This is why it is vital for us to change society’s perspective and help harvest opportunities for individuals with Autism, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Fragile X and Intellectual disability. Everyone deserves the chance to feel included, to show their talents and create financial freedom. We work tirelessly to bring out the best in these individuals by encouraging them to showcase their unique abilities. Then, and only then, can they be happy being themselves.

This year we are excited to recognize 23 young adults who have accomplished over 5 Years of Successful Employment

We are thrilled and proud to share that 23 young adults with unique abilities have been successfully employed for over five years through our initiatives. This is more than a number—it's living proof that our model works. It's a shining example to the world that young adults with Autism, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Fragile X, and Intellectual disabilities are capable of achieving great things when given the right support and opportunities.

This achievement is a testament to our commitment to creating meaningful employment opportunities for these talented individuals. It underscores our belief that with the appropriate support, tools, and team, anything is possible. Most importantly, it all starts by believing—believing that every young adult, regardless of their challenges, has the potential for success.

Why Donate?

On Give Miami Day, we ask for your continued support to help us expand our reach and impact even more lives. Your generous donation will allow us to build new partnerships with employers, provide further support for our employees, and empower more young adults to thrive in the workforce. Join us in our mission to change perceptions and open doors. Together, we can show the world what's possible when we believe in the potential of all young adults.

When you give, we take another step. Another step toward hiring young adults with unique abilities in the workplace. Together as a Miami community we have come a long way and we thank you for believing in their dreams and in ours.

Mission

Our main focus is simple - to help young adults with unique abilities reach their full potential and lead them on the road to success by:

• Introducing them into a professional work environment

• Helping them become self-sufficient

• Instilling confidence and independence

• Teaching the importance of self-worth

The de Moya Foundation has been working on changing society's perspective of individuals with developmental disabilities such as Autism, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Fragile X, and Intellectual disability. We believe that these unique abilities benefit businesses and when given an opportunity, with the necessary support, young adults are set up to succeed.

We foster hope, confidence and independence to ensure successful employment outcomes and community inclusion.
