Giving Hope to Patients in Crisis

At Care Resource, compassion transforms into action, changing lives every day. As a trusted Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Care Resource provides comprehensive healthcare services—including medical, dental, behavioral health, and preventive care to enhance health and quality of life for the most vulnerable in our community.

In 2023, 34% of patient visits—48,749 in total—addressed urgent needs like food insecurity, housing instability, and transportation for healthcare. These essential services help patients navigate challenges that can make prioritizing their health difficult.

To meet these critical needs, Care Resource provides targeted emergency assistance that offers stability and relief when it is needed most. By addressing the social and economic barriers to care, we empower individuals and families to focus on their health and well-being.

Your donation, along with grants and other funding, supports three key areas of emergency assistance:

  1. Food Assistance
    • 24,809 food bags were distributed, providing 520,000 meals to families facing food insecurity.
    • 875 individuals received $50 food vouchers, helping them meet their nutritional needs.
  2. Housing Assistance
    • 1,416 individuals and families received support to cover rent, mortgage, and utilities, allowing them to stay in their homes and avoid displacement during difficult times.
  3. Healthcare Transportation
    • 5,395 urgent healthcare rides were provided, ensuring that patients could access life-saving medical appointments without transportation barriers.

Your contribution can have a lasting impact:

  • $36 funds a rapid round-trip ride for healthcare.
  • $170 provides filled grocery bags that make 42 meals, supporting a person for 16 days.
  • $1,000 keeps a patient and their family securely housed, offering stability during a challenging time.

Mission

Care Resource is a not-for-profit, multicultural, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Through education, prevention, research, care, treatment, and support services, our mission is to improve upon the health and overall quality of life of our diverse communities in need.

For four decades, Care Resource has excelled at providing affordable, high-quality healthcare and support services to the most vulnerable and diverse medically underserved populations in our community. We offer primary medical, dental, preventive, and behavioral healthcare, HIV specialty care, and support services that include case management, addiction treatment, a food pantry, healthcare intervention transportation vouchers and emergency housing aid. This vast array of services offers an unparalleled continuum of care for children, adolescents, and adults.

Our vision is to expand our continuum of health services and care in response to the growing needs of the underserved and hard-to-reach populations of South Florida.
