Bookleggers is Miami's first and only free bookstore. We expand access to free books as a way of building community!

Since launching in 2012, Bookleggers has circulated 100,000+ free books in places as varied as the mouth of Anhinga Trail in the Everglades, the Miami Science Museum Planetarium during a laser light show, and Redland Market Village surrounded by a 15-piece mariachi band. We share books with people of all ages because reading is fun, and books bring joy.

Here are the programs your donation will help support:

- Bookleggers Free Bookshop is open Tuesday - Friday, 12 - 5pm in the Bakehouse Art Complex - 561 NW 32 ST, Miami, 33127. Your donation will help us extend shop hours into the weekend!

- The Traveling Book Trailer moves across the city to give away free books, unfolding as a mobile bookshop in any parking lot or open space. Your donation will allow us to send the trailer out into neighborhoods more often.

- Pop-up libraries for kids and adults are set up in high foot traffic, underserved, and gathering spaces in Miami. Some places include a children’s hospital, a prison, a skate park, bars, museums, and more.

- Family Learning programs like ADVENTURE-LEGGERS and Plant-leggers where we combine free books, art, and hands-on learning to foster a love of reading.
