We promote bicycling and walking in Coconut Grove through several interrelated activities: (1) education and advocacy for improved planning and infrastructure for biking and walking, (2) supporting safety measures and improvements to the Commodore Trail, (3) free bike valet parking at community events, (4) family-friendly bike rides that highlight the beauty and history of Coconut Grove, (5) Bike and Walk to School Day for local schools in the fall and spring every year, (6) a bicycle-friendly business program to involve local businesses in supporting bicycling, and (7) a program to teach people of all ages how to ride a bike.
Mission
Bike Coconut Grove is a nonprofit organization founded in February 2014. We are community-based and volunteer-driven. Our mission is to make Coconut Grove more bicycle-friendly (and pedestrian-friendly, too) by promoting bicycling as a form of everyday transportation and recreation. Central to our mission is the need to build and improve the five-mile Commodore Trail, a multiuse path through Coconut Grove with the potential to be one of the recreational jewels of Miami-Dade County.
