G.W. Carver Elementary School, situated on the northwest perimeter of Coconut Grove in Coral Gables, is one of the top language magnet schools in Miami-Dade County. Little Carver embraces a diverse student body, with 90% hailing from various minority backgrounds. The school fosters an innovative, multilingual program with a challenging and rigorous curriculum, aiming to ensure student success and personal growth in a global society.
Give Miami Day 2024's goal is to secure funding to improve our outdoor learning and recess areas for safety and innovative learning.
Currently, our school depends highly on the use of the neighboring park for recess and P.E., but it will soon close for renovations. Our 2022 campaign was instrumental to kickstart the conversion of our courtyard to become today's hub for student activities and community events. So this year we want to continue developing unused areas into dynamic learning spaces like below.
THIS PROJECT WILL LIKELY SPAN OVER A FEW YEARS, AND WILL REQUIRE LOTS MORE FUNDRAISING. But we are hoping that by meeting our $50K goal, we can get the project started.
