Biscayne Bay Foundation

A nonprofit organization

Your generous donation will be used to provide the tools and supplies needed to preserve Biscayne Bay and its rich plant and wildlife population to thrive in a clean and safe environment where plant, animal, and humans can co-exist. with your support Biscayne Bay Foundation wants to hire 2-3 part time workers to clean the waterways and we are also looking to purchase 2-3 inflatable boats maybe 10 -12 feet to get into the mangroves where most of our trash is collected and my 18 foot boat is to big to get into the shallow areas.

Biscayne Bay includes about 275 square miles of marine ecosystem and a watershed of about 850 square miles along the coast of Miami-Dade and northeastern Monroe counties. It is home to a variety of plants and wildlife, including the endangered manatee and American crocodile.

Restore our waterways and save our wildlife

Trash Free Seas

Ocean trash ranks as one of the most serious pollution problems of our time. Much more than an eyesore, trash in the water and on the shore affects the health of people, wildlife and economies. For example, trash in the water:

injures swimmers and beachgoers;

harms wildlife that eats it or get trapped in its mess;

drives away tourists-and their wallets; and

ensnares boat propellers, a costly navigation hazard.

The good news is we can prevent trashed beaches and debris-filled water.

Biscayne Bay Foundation is creating a world of trash free seas by:

Organizing and executing the Beach cleanup

Building a movement to help inspire all of us to stop trash before it starts and live cleaner, healthier lives.
