Biscayne Bay borders virtually every mile of Miami-Dade County, cradling its 34 cities and its almost 3 million residents. It is both ecologically diverse and culturally significant, as well as an economic powerhouse for our State, generating over $64 billion a year. That's why the Resilient 305 strategy's first action item is to "Protect and Restore Biscayne Bay," prioritizing it regionally!
Protecting the watershed is critical to our community’s overall health and prosperity. And the Biscayne Bay Recovery Fund supports community projects that protect our Bay and houses future proceeds collected from the Protect Biscayne Bay specialty license plate that will be used to fund education and outreach, and support conservation efforts.
A healthy Biscayne Bay means a stronger Miami-Dade and a more prosperous Florida. And with your support, we can ensure our Bay will thrive for generations of Floridians.
The Biscayne Bay Recovery Fund supports community efforts to strengthen and protect Florida's Biscayne Bay through science, policy, and infrastructure. Through this fund, we're working to foster a more collaborative approach to restoration and recovery, prioritizing education and communication to achieve a healthier Biscayne Bay.
The Biscayne Bay Recovery Fund will support the following initiatives:
- A multilingual awareness campaign about Biscayne Bay for residents and visitors
- Local non-profit organizations that focus on Biscayne Bay restoration and education
By working together, we can all help preserve, protect, and restore the blue heart of our County.
