Venezuela Awareness Foundation (VAF) is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2004, for the defense of democracy and human rights in Venezuela. VAF through Raices (Roots) program assists the underprivileged to have acces to food pantries, house utensils, and favorable living conditions.
Our program are driven by local volunteers. This is an opportunity to serve our citizens in need.
Acording to the official numbers from USCIS, Asylum Division, the political asylum requests of the Venezuelans increase in 2017 and 2018, making it the first country with more political asylum request in USA. The majority of the petitioners look to reside in Miami or around it to feel the Venezuelan ambiance that the city offers. A group of them are disoriented and with low resources., so Raices Venezolanas (Venezuelan Roots) is the only program of this kind at the national level for Venezuelans, provides them with the basic needs for the families to survive until they are able to get back on their feet, and the quality of life of these newcomers that reside in Miami would improve without them being a load for the city.

Raices Venezolanas Miami (Venezuelan Roots) Helps vulnerable Venezuelan newcomers in need by providing them with guidance, immediate relief with the resources needed to live productive lives.
