"Empowering women and girls is not only the right thing to do – it's the smart thing to do." - Melinda French Gates

By giving to Code/Art this Give Miami Day, you are empowering the next generation of female tech leaders! Donations at every level help to accelerate and amplify our mission.

Mission

Founded in 2016, Code/Art is on a mission to increase the number of girls studying computer science by delighting and inspiring them with the creative possibilities of computer programming. We strive to put young women, particularly young women from historically underrepresented groups, on track for future tech careers by providing welcoming early coding programs that focus on art, creativity, and social good.

Code/Art is driving diversity and inclusion in tech by reaching into every neighborhood in Miami and beyond to inspire girls to code. Code/Art has introduced more than 10,000 girls to computer science since 2016. Of these girls, 18% identify as Black or African American and 67% identify as Hispanic or Latina.

In addition to teaching coding skills, our programs expose young women to career opportunities, teach leadership and entrepreneurial skills, and help to build a supportive community of girls, parents, teachers and community leaders.

Ultimately, we envision a world where all girls have a positive early introduction to coding that leads to a more robust and inclusive tech workforce.
